Today, the OSINT Foundation launched the Practitioner Committee, which is tasked with delineating fundamental concepts of the open-source intelligence discipline.  The OSINT Foundation, which began operations on August 1, is the professional association for Intelligence Community OSINT practitioners.  Members on the committee represent a cross-section of both government and industry OSINT experts and include:

  • David Reese – Chair
  • Colin Collins
  • Eliot Jardines
  • Leslie Mitchell
  • Robert Wilkinson

Additional members are awaiting final guidance from management and will be announced soon.

Barbara Alexander, the OSINT Foundation President, stated, “We are very happy to announce the launch of our Practitioner Committee, which brings some of the IC’s most experienced OSINT experts together to identify and promulgate foundational principles for the discipline.  Combined, our Practitioner Committee members have over 85 years of experience doing OSINT.  We look forward to sharing their critical work products with the IC and broader OSINT community.”  Additional information on the Practitioner Committee is available on the OSINT Foundation website (https://www.osintfoundation.com/osint/Practitioner.asp).

Unless specifically stated, U.S. Government employees serving on OSINT Foundation committees and subcommittees are doing so in a personal capacity, and do not represent their agency, or the U.S. Government.
