OSINT Foundation Commends HPSCI for Passing FY2026 IAA Out of Committee

The OSINT Foundation commends the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) for passing the FY2026 Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA) out of Committee. The new section of the IAA (Title VI - Sections 601 to 610) on open-source intelligence is the farthest-reaching legislative effort to mature the OSINT discipline in our nation’s history. The new OSINT sections have updated definitions, mandated certification standards and reciprocity, while critically empowering the DNI for OSINT budget and oversight matters. We await the bill's reconciliation with the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) version, but color us exceedingly impressed!
