OSINT HISTORY: Where it All Began
On 26 February 1941, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt established the Foreign Broadcast Monitoring Service (FBMS). The FBMS worked to record, translate, transcribe, and analyze foreign broadcast programs. In the year after the attack on Pearl Harbor, on July 28, 1942, the FBMS changed its name to the Foreign Broadcast Intelligence Service.
